# What works in early access

> Where you can call, which phone numbers are available, what AI answering does and what is not supported yet during Rinzo early access.

> **911 and emergency calling are not supported during early access.** Rinzo phones cannot reach 911 or other emergency services. Do not use Rinzo as your only phone service where emergency calling may be needed: keep another way to call for help, such as a mobile phone. ## Calling destinations

You can call the 48 contiguous US states, Washington DC and Canada (except Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut), plus US & Canada toll-free numbers. Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, the Caribbean, premium-rate (900) numbers and international destinations are not available yet. Calls to US & Canada toll-free numbers are free. ## AI answering

The AI receptionist answers questions from your business information, puts callers through to your people, takes messages and, when you connect your Google Calendar, books appointments; otherwise it takes an appointment request as a message for your team. Each receptionist speaks English, Spanish or French, with one voice. A summary email after each call and transcripts are off until you turn them on per receptionist. A signed webhook after each call carries the record to your CRM or automation. It doesn’t send text messages; calls it answers are recorded only when you turn that on, it reads your website only when you import it, and it recognizes repeat callers by their number unless you turn that off. It is not for health information that needs HIPAA safeguards. See [AI answering](https://rinzo.ai/docs/ai-answering.md).

## Phone numbers

Local US and Canadian numbers by area code. Your plan includes one local number, chosen from available inventory when you sign up. Number availability varies by area code. During early access, support adds extra phone numbers on request: add credit in Billing, then email [support@rinzo.ai](mailto:support@rinzo.ai) with the area code you’d like. Toll-free numbers and porting are also by request. Your plan includes one phone number. Each extra number costs $5 a month, taken from your credit every 30 days, or prepay it in the Control panel: $3 a month for 12 months ($36 upfront) or $2 a month for 24 months ($48 upfront). If your credit can’t cover an extra number’s monthly fee, we keep it for 7 days, then release it. Outbound calls show your Rinzo number as caller ID.

## Emergency calling

911 and other emergency calls are not supported during early access. [Read this before you rely on Rinzo →](https://rinzo.ai/emergency-calling.md)

## Phones and connections

Any standard SIP desk phone or softphone can connect over the internet. Phones can encrypt their connection to Rinzo with TLS on port 5061 and SRTP audio, or connect without encryption over UDP or TCP on port 5060. See [Phones & devices](https://rinzo.ai/docs/phones.md). Phones need power and a working internet connection.
