# Call routing & office hours

> Office hours, holidays, AI answering, ring groups and an auto-attendant.

## Your main number

In SmartPBX, open your main number settings to choose what happens to incoming calls. A common setup: a ring group during office hours and your AI receptionist after hours, or the receptionist all day. If an AI agent set up your menu and office hours with the rinzo command-line tool, they are in the Advanced Callflows app instead: change them there, or ask your agent, rather than setting up the main number again in SmartPBX.

## Office hours and holidays

Set your opening hours and holidays, then choose where calls go during office hours, after hours and on holidays.

## AI answering

Each time period’s “who answers” choice lists your published AI receptionists at the top. Pick one, and the period’s voicemail or menu becomes its fallback. The receptionist answers questions, puts callers through to the people and departments you chose and takes messages. See [AI answering](https://rinzo.ai/docs/ai-answering.md).

## Ring groups

A ring group rings several people, for example everyone in sales. Add users to the group, then choose where calls go if nobody answers.

## Auto-attendant

An auto-attendant greets callers and lets them press a key: “Press 1 for sales, 2 for support.” Record or upload a greeting, then send each key to a user, group or voicemail box.

## Advanced Callflows

An external PBX handles its own routing through [SIP Trunking](https://rinzo.ai/docs/sip-trunking.md). For hosted routing SmartPBX doesn’t cover, the Advanced Callflows app in the Control panel lets you build custom call flows.

## Test every path

After saving, call your main number and try each auto-attendant option, or ask the receptionist for a person. Check after-hours routing too, for example by temporarily changing your hours.
