Trades & repairs · AI answering service

Stay with the repair. Give the next caller a way through.
A customer with a leaking faucet and a contractor asking about a renovation need different conversations. Rinzo answers from your plumbing business’s information and connects callers to the right person while you are on a job.

- Caller
- “Do you replace water heaters in my neighborhood?”
- Rinzo AI Receptionist
- “Which neighborhood are you in? I can check our service area and connect you with the office about a replacement.”
Why the first answer matters
The phone rings when your hands are busy.
Between a crawl space, a supply run, and the drive to the next address, answering every inquiry yourself is difficult. A useful first conversation can explain your service area, clarify the work you take on, and point the caller toward your office or service team.
Use your own business facts, instructions, and documents to shape the conversation. When a caller asks for a person, Rinzo puts them through to a destination you configure. If that person can’t take the call, it takes a message for them.
How the AI Receptionist works →The calls you know well
What callers can get help with.
Service-area questions
Teach the receptionist which neighborhoods you cover and whether you take residential, commercial, or both kinds of work. Callers can check whether your company is a fit before speaking with the office.
Repair and installation inquiries
Explain your process for drain cleaning, water heater replacement, or fixture installation using information you supply. Transfer requests for an estimate or a visit to the person who arranges the work.
Calls after the office closes
Use business hours to decide when callers reach your team and when they reach voicemail. If you offer an after-hours service line, make that a configured destination with a clear no-answer route.
A call, start to finish
Tuesday, 10:40. You are under a sink.
A homeowner calls about a water heater while you finish a repair across town. The receptionist answers from your service area and pricing notes, then takes the details your office needs.
Illustrative call with a fictional business and caller. The receptionist speaks as your business; it mentions being an AI only if asked.
- Caller
- Hi, my water heater is leaking from the bottom. Do you replace them, and do you come out to Maple Ridge?
- Receptionist
- Yes, we replace water heaters, and Maple Ridge is in our service area. Would you like me to connect you with the office, or take your details so they can call you back with a quote and a time?
- Caller
- A callback is fine. How much is a visit?
- Receptionist
- There is a flat trip fee, which comes off the price of the work if you go ahead. Can I get your name and the best number to reach you?
- Caller
- Dana Reyes, 604 555 0142. It is not an emergency, but today if possible.
- Receptionist
- Thanks, Dana. I have a leaking water heater in Maple Ridge, a replacement quote and a visit today if possible, with a callback to 604 555 0142. I will pass your callback request to the office; they confirm availability and timing.
Set it up for your business
From signup to the first real call.
An afternoon’s work for most plumbers. Or send us your website address after you sign up and we build it for you within one business day.
Choose your number and sign up
Pick a local number for the business, or keep your current number and forward missed calls to it (see the forwarding guide). The first month is free on the monthly plan.
Give it your service facts
Service area by neighbourhood, the repairs and installations you take on, the trip fee and how estimates work, office hours and your after-hours policy. Paste them as facts or upload your price sheet.
Set who callers can reach
The office during the day, a technician’s mobile for urgent work, and a voicemail box for messages. Decide what happens when nobody picks up.
Make three test calls
Ask about a repair in your area, ask about an address outside it, and ask for a person while that phone is busy. Check that the message arrives with the caller’s number.
Point your main number at it
Choose when the receptionist answers in SmartPBX: all day, only when the office does not pick up, or after hours. Change it any time.
Your information. Your way of working.
Give it the details your callers need.
Start with your service area and the questions customers ask before agreeing to a visit. Give the office and service team distinct destinations. Test a routine repair inquiry, an address outside your area, and an unanswered transfer before putting the receptionist on your main number. Start from the plumbing-heating template: rinzo receptionists template plumbing-heating drafts the greeting, instructions, common questions and destinations for a plumbing and heating company, with blanks for your own prices, hours and policies that you fill in and check before publishing.
Upload PDF, Word, text, or Markdown documents, review their extracted text, and publish your updates when ready.
Beyond the first conversation
The rest of your phone system is here, too.
A number for the business
Keep work calls on a business number and forward them to a mobile when you are out.

AI answering.
A team behind it.
Rinzo brings the receptionist, extensions, ring groups, business hours, mobile forwarding, and voicemail together in one account. When nobody can take a call, the receptionist takes a message, and it arrives in your voicemail with a text summary.
Explore the phone system →Included in your plan
The AI receptionist is part of your plan, with no monthly fee: you pay $0.10 a minute while it is talking with a caller, in 6-second increments, from your prepaid credit. Your free month includes 30 AI minutes. The call it answers is an inbound call like any other: it uses your included minutes, then costs $0.02 a minute. You choose where it answers in your call routing.
The whole phone system, a business number, and 100 minutes a month. No per-user fees.

Before you get started
Questions from plumbers.
Rinzo is in early access. See current availability and how information is handled.
Can it quote a plumbing repair?
It can explain fees and policies you provide. A diagnosis, a firm repair price, and an arrival time should come from your team; route those requests to the office or technician.
Can it dispatch an emergency plumber?
You can configure a route to your after-hours team. Rinzo does not assess hazards or guarantee a dispatch. The team must confirm whether someone can attend.
Can the receptionist handle calls for several crews?
Yes. Configure a destination for each crew or for the office, and describe which calls each handles. Callers can ask for the team they need in their own words.
